Pictures, as promised

A sample of the pictures that are coming!

I created the following website to house some of the pictures I took today at Abby's birth. This website is something new to me, but, I did make it so others can upload photos, too.
You should also be able to print out or save any photos from this site.
You can also add comments.

Baby Abby Website

She's Here

Beth is awesome.

Baby Abby is here.

7 lbs 14 oz 20.5 inches

Pictures to come.

12:33pm...almost exactly 12 hours from when her waters first broke.

11:06

Beth had been pushing. Now they have adjusted her position & asked her to rest to give Abby a little time to descend on her own & help prevent any unnecessary bodily harm to Beth's body. :-)

Brandon & Will
Jimmie & Anne Marie
Margaret and Dennis
Sean, Stephen and Joshua

are all in the waiting room, or on route!

What a great day in this family!

IT's time

Holy cow! No way! Beth is ready to go!

9:41 am Nurse is prepping the room.

We have NO way of getting a hold of Brandon. We are trying to think of how to get Brandon. Well. Today is a good argument for why they need to get a cell phone.

Beth is in Labor!!

Finally! The time has come! Beth is finally in the hospital, all hooked up to monitors & Abby is going to come soon!
As I am typing-the nurse is checking her.

So, I am going to try and start her story on my blog because I can't get into her blog. Her husband changed her password and such. Thank God for husbands "helping" out. Just a rub, Brandon.

This birth story started weeks ago.

Beth made a trip to Dr. Johnson when she was 38 weeks pregnant. At that appointment, he did enough in the exam that she started having contractions when she was eating lunch at Nellies. She got really excited that labor was definitely coming. The contractions she was experiencing were very different than the BH she had been having. So, she stopped eating as a precaution and started walking to hopefully intensify the contractions. She walked and walked.
It was a Friday, so, she wanted to talk to the doctor before he left for the weekend because she thought the baby was coming soon. When she called the docs office, they told her to go to the hospital and he would meet her there. She was surprised, yet excited about the answer she got. When she got to the hospital, they monitored her, found her to be 2.5 cm, but not in active labor. They sent her home telling her she was in prelabor. She had to promise to send Will somewhere so she could get some rest. Apparently she now needed to eat and sleep. Everyone was ready for her to go into labor within the next 24 hours.

Fast forward a week. No baby. And, in fact, Hurricane Ike looked like he was heading our way. So, everyone evacuated. Beth had told Dr. Johnson in her first prenatal appt. with him that she had her first baby during the Rita evacuation. At that point, the doctor laughed and told her she could evacuate to his ranch with him should that happen again. So, looking at having to evacuate, she called the office to ask the doctor what he wanted to do, knowing he wasn't serious about the ranch comment he made. This was Wednesday & many people were doubters that the hurricane was actually coming our way. The doctor's office was no exception. She was told she could come pick up her records if she wanted to the next day. Beth wanted to avoid traffic, so, she hit the road that night, and did not get her records.

Now everyone in the family and all of her friends are prepared to meet baby Abby in Fredricksburg, just like we met Will in Fredricksburg. We know the routine afterall. Beth was 6 days away from her due date. Everyone got as comfortable in their "homes" for the time it would take for Ike to pass. Everyone had everyone's phone number & we all had our plan on how we would get to Fredricksburg.

Hurricane Ike passed. The news was showing all the devastation from Galveston. We also all knew we didn't have power at our homes. So, we were waiting in pur evacuation "homes" until baby Abby or electrical power to return to our real homes to make our next move. Much to Beth's chagrin, the power came on first. Renee and I got power. So, Beth and Brandon had a decisions to make. It was her due date. Should they risk the drive home? So, they went to the Fredricksburg hospital to meet with a doctor. The doctor advised that she probably could make it home, so, they headed home...on her due date..a 5 hour drive...at night...to a hurricane ravaged area.

Once Beth got home, she started to re-formulate her birth plan, but it proved to be difficult. St. Johns hospital was closed. Dr. Johnson's office was closed. When she called the other hospital, she got told she could come in when she went into labor. She started looking for prenatal care 2 days post due date. She went to the hospital to inquire & found out Dr. Johnson was seeing patients between 11 and 12. SO, Beth went in to be seen. Dr. Johnson only made it to 11:20 before getting kicked out of his office by the fire marshall because the building was closed & possibly not safe. Apparently the doctor's staff was getting yelled at, with pointed finger, "don't ya'll know you aren't supposed to be seeing patients. You're not supposed to be here. You need to leave. You need to get out or you're going to get fined." Apparently there was a miscommunication between people in Nassau Bay because Dr. Johnson was told he could see patients that day. Beth did find out that she didn't need to be induced (although, again, not the answer she was looking for). She was told she wasn't doing anything down there during the exam.

So, Beth went on doing more of what she was doing. She was going to people's houses. She came to our house, went to Margaret and Dennis' house, and spent most of her time at her Mom's house. Brandon had time to clean up the yard, Beth did laundry, and I helped finished some of the inside stuff up. She went home to sleep during the nights.

Beth has spent many moments in complete frustration with days passing without labor coming. Last night she did a bible study that went over joy, peace and patience. She gave it up to God & let her heart feel that she couldn't bring labor on herself & that it was God's plan and she would wake up in the morning and choose to be at peace and not give into depression. Not too many hours later, her water broke. God is always at work in our lives.

When Beth's water broke, she nudged Brandon and told him her water broke. He said, "huh?" and went back to sleep. Beth got showered up. Brandon woke again and asked if she was okay & Beth restated that her water broke and she needed to go to the hospital. He then got going mentally a little, "what do I do? ?"

At 12+am, Beth drove to the hospital. She and Brandon were spending the night in their house, without power and phone. So, Brandon stayed home with Will & Beth was going to drive to the hospital. Afterall, her water had broken, but, she was not having contractions.

As things go during post-hurricanes, Beth could not get out of her neighborhood easily. Beth lives in Nassau Bay & the same cops that keep people for looting their homes & keep doctors out of their office were trying to not let her drive to the hospital. The cops are at the neighborhood enforcing curfew, so, she had to stop. The male cop told her he was very uncomfortable letting her drive, so, he wanted to call her an ambulance. She declined because she wasn't having contractions. But, the cop still wouldn't let her by, so, she went home to get Brandon to take her. At this point Brandon gets verbally angry with the cops and instructs Beth on what to say and do & he was not going to let some cop tell them how to do things. So, Beth takes off on her own again & decides to just drive by the cop this time and wave. It worked and she made it to the hospital.

So here we are. The timeline begins.

Okay-7:55am, she is 3 cm.

7:30ish am- I first arrive. Beth has epidural already & has been given pitocin to get the contractions going
7:57 am-first (and only) episode of nausea.
8:40 am- just talking with the nurse. Her youngest girl to deliver: 11. Her oldest lad to deliver: 51.
9:08 am- just chatting...Renee, Beth and I. Talking about being the mother of a girl vs boy. Trying to call Grandma and Aunt Stef

Next posts take the story over....

Home

We got home today! To a lovely house. My house has never looked so good! In fact, my whole neighborhood looks good.
My neighbor on one side already fixed the fence that was down. we need to work with the neighbor on the other side to fix a leaning fence.

I cleared everything out of the fridge and freezer. That took a little longer than I thought it would. I didn't remember that we had popsicles in the freezer. they melt into a lovely sludge & re-freeze even more beautifully!

The Fly lady (some of you know what I am talking about) talks about cleaning your sink every night & that makes you feel good. Well, for me, cleaning the minivan & pulling it into the garage makes my day. So, my beautiful minivan has been returned to sparkling clean & is in the garage, & all the stuff that was in the garage has returned to the backyard.

All of my neighbors are home and I feel like I am at home and nothing happened. Even driving into town, there was very little evidence that Ike tore through here a couple of days ago. But, there are rescues teams and trucks that say disaster relief and trucks pulling in generators, "Feed the Children" trucks set up in a church parking lot, and many blue tarps on roofs.

So, we are really lucky here. We came home, reorganized, and we're going on with life. Things inside our house are normal & I really hope Joshua will sleep like normal, too!!!!

SO, since things are so normal, I feel very strongly that God is calling us to go out and help. Our church is doing some organized efforts to help, so, I plan on doing that tomorrow. Tomorrow's job is apparently to do work at our church campus. Because there has been ceiling damage, kids are not allowed inside the building, so, Joshua, Stephen and I will help clean debris off the parking lot for as long as we can. The weather is GORGEOUS, so, it will be a great activity.

Evacuation, Day 4, Sunday

Today we went to church and lunch with a friend of mine from high school. We typically attend a traditional service at our home church, Gloria Dei. Today I was looking for a service with a contemporary flare. I knew I was looking for a Baptist service and I knew Brian and Lisa enjoy their Baptist congregation, so I gave them a call this morning and told them we would meet them there. It turned out to be a great morning. We have not had the chance to keep up with Brian and Lisa, so this was a perfect opportunity to visit them in their home, because they do talk about their church as a home. This picture is Brian and Lisa, their kids, Alyssa and Ethan, and us,

**funny side story: I told Stephen we were going to a Baptist church this morning. In a different conversation, he asked if we were going to the good one or the bad one. I didn't know what he was talking about, because we also planned to hit Starbucks, but I figured out that he was misunderstanding me. Eventually I figured out he thought I was saying "baddest" or something similar when I was saying "Baptist." Too cute.****

The sermon this morning was talking about bringing church into work and how to be a good worker. Part of the outline was:

To be at peace in my present position.

To maintain good personal relationships.

Accomplish job with excellence regardless of task

Win admiration of outsiders

Avoid being a liability

I really believe this speaks well to us now that we are completely removed from what we know as normal.

I think we have a chance to set are priorities straight. Everyone (generally) who has evacuated is wanting to get home. We are wanting to get back to the routine. We feel bored and away from our stuff. We can't work like little worker ants because our work has been taken away from us. The home we could be cleaning, the yard we could be trimming, the fence we could be putting up, the stink if the fridge that is certainly there...etc. And, we can't go to work. There is no work.

But, we do have the first two priorities in life:
God
Family

We have a chance to really not let work be the priority. We have a chance to feel what it feels like to really prioritize...correctly, the way God wants us to.

So, relooking at the outline.
We can be at peace in our displaced homes and learn to be happy.
(side comment-some of us can see if we really could be spontaneous and go on a spontaneous, unplanned vacation)

We can build relationships with people we generally don't have time to be with and perhaps influence them.

Our job has changed-Sean, for example, is not used to being Mr. Mom. He is getting a chance to strengthen the bond with his children. This is a far cry from mechanical engineer work building the next space vehicle.

Win admiration of outsiders???? I have ideas, but, I know this is where I need to brainstorm more.

Avoid being a liability. This is hard since we are sponging off my parents, plan to sponge off my sister and will probably sponge a couple of more places until we have power back in our home.

As a final thought, I am getting much more internet time than I usually get because I have more people to help with the kids and I am not in the busy social circles I am used to. I have always had the thought that I should post to my blog on Sundays and write about how Sunday's sermon has challenged my thinking. Perhaps it could challenge someone else's that way. Today I actually have had the time to put that thought into action. Maybe I can keep it up once we are back to normal.

Up All NIght

We were up all night, but not because we were worried about our house and anxiously watching the news. Little Mr. Joshua kept us up most of the night, sleeping in little spurts here and there. He has a runny nose that is making him miserable. Thankfully, this is a first for him-both the sickness and the up-all nightness.

So, we are really tired.

But, tired is temporary in our lives. According to our neighbors, our house is without power, but is not damaged. We have two sections of fence that will need to be repaired, but that is it. Hallelujah. Some of our neighbors lost their oak trees, but, ours made it through.

We will head home at some point, basing our decision on getting power back and Beth's condition. I called her this morning and she isn't having any contractions.

**update at 10am: Brandon and Beth's house is OKay, too. Our neighbor drove over to their neighborhood to look in on it for them. We are so blessed to have good friends! As long as the water is not going to rise anymore, they should be fine. However, the houses across the street from them are sitting in about 4 ft of water.

A Call for a new Weather Icon

Is this really a good representation of the weather in our area right now?

This is the same picture you see everyday. When I look at this picture, I feel like I am looking at the same, typical forecast you see everyday. But, this is far from everyday. In fact, this cute little icon for wind and rain is not what you expect to see for a storm that has caused us to drive to another city to avoid. I need something that helps me picture possible damage to my home. I think the weather community needs to contact the NFL logo creators to come up with something. A picture of a cloud with bloody lips holding a sledgehammer...that would be more like it. That would be a better picture for what I see is going on in our area...but I am only watching it carefully on TV from miles and miles away.

Perhaps someone with some good computer programs could work with these two pictures to come up with something better:

Evacuated

We have left our home because of IKE headed our direction. We are at my parents house here in San Antonio. Our house should be Okay, but it's scary all the same. I am watching the news report that IKE is currently creating waves that are 38 feet high out in the gulf right now. That is really hard to try and envision. Our area is expecting winds in excess of 100 mph.

The important things, my husband and my kids are with me. My pets are with me. Not as important, but not replaceable, little momentos of our past are with me. Everything else is just stuff. Right? (Remind me of that if we have damage.)

We were able to get out without too much traffic. We only hit a little bit of traffic leaving Houston. This kind of traffic only last about 19 miles.
While we were heading out of town as quickly as possible, there were many folks heading into the storm.  We tried to photograph these convoys, but it was really more impressive than what's in the photos because it was usually about 20-30 of these vehicles at a time going down to the coast.

This was a cool sight to see, and this picture really does nothing for it--but, this is part of a line of state troopers, about 50 of them, lights flashing, heading to Houston area:

Flashlight TV-perhaps one of the best Christmas gifts ever given to us...we were able to watch the news as we were on our way out.  These are the zip codes that were being asked to evacuate as we were traveling through Houston:

Stephen's brain got mushy watching "Handy Manny" on DVD:

Joshua proved to be a pretty good little traveler. He did take two naps! And we ended up not having to pull over at all.

Time enjoying kids while "vacationing" to the Grandparent's house:

Such a cute baby!

Singing Stephen

My bedtime/naptime routine with Stephen is to read three books and sing three songs. Today I sang "Take Me Out To the Ball Game" and he started to sing along. So, I just had to record it since Sean is going with Brandon to a game tonight. Stephen can sing many songs, without aide & has recently become silent during singing times..so, I am thrilled he sang along today. Stephen is always watching and listening. You never know when he's going to jump in and participate, but you can bet it's going to take awhile.

Stephen's First Day at Preschool

Stephen's first day of school went really well! It was a success. He got in the car after school and told me he had fun. He also talked about what they are going to do next week-even though I couldn't understand.

Here are a few pictures of getting ready for school :

This is where we drop off his backpack and supplies before school:

Here is Stephen right before I put him in the classroom. He was not sure about going in. He did cry, which made me really cry. I had to run so he wouldn't see me crying. His teacher, Mrs Marcia, is standing in the background.

Joshua finally taking a long, decent nap late this afternoon...he is totally holding his foot while sleeping! So cute. He loves his feet. He loves to hold them.

Preschool

Am I ready? Am I really ready to turn my son over to someone else for five hours? Am I really ready to let someone else teach him things? Am I ready for him to come home and say things and do things & not know exactly what happened? No. I am not ready.

Of course, tonight is the night before preschool. I can see him in the video monitor sleeping soundly & everyone knows that is when your child looks the best...when they are asleep. I don't want someone else to have time with him. I want all of his time. Stephen looks like a little angel and always has since birth. He's always had a face that I have called the "porcelain doll" look. My stress about school right now is high. It's the night before. I have put his school stuff together. We took a big shirt & decorated it earlier today to be his art shirt. Daddy took him shopping tonight for a new backpack. We played school tonight with Daddy to practice going to school & reminding him that Mommy will come pick him up. I have printed out a picture of us to put in his lunchbox. I feel like I have done everything I can--except realize that my child is no longer just mine. I am slowly not going to influence his life completely. Other people are going to come into his life. I have to back off. It's hard. I want him to grow up to be confident and successful. I know this is all part of giving him the opportunity to grow that way. Thank goodness I am dropping him off and going straight to the church for my Moms support group meeting.

I am trying to make myself think about him banging. That's his newest Mommy annoyance tactic. He bangs on everything, especially when I am trying to get Joshua to sleep. If I think about the banging, I am more at peace with sending him to preschool. At school, he won't be bored enough to bang. Someone else has the time and talent to keep him entertained & keep him learning so we won't have a chance to bang. I am sure that his teacher will never know that banging is even a problem in this household right now.

I am saying a prayer that the teacher be given the love to keep Stephen content at school. I pray that Stephen finds a happy place there. I pray that the other children are influenced by Stephen well and that they interact well with Stephen.

I also pray that Joshua can deal with all the Mommy that is about to fall on him...because...his little world is still all me.

Thank God for all the blessings that I have in my life...that this is the stressful thing. What a blessing.

Firsts

Last Saturday morning, Sean and I were in San Antonio, awake with Joshua before the rest of the family woke up. Joshua was being really cute conversing with us & figured out how to blow raspberries. We haven't seen them again, though.

Tonight we saw Joshua's belly laugh for the first time. I was tickling Stephen and him after their baths. I have to say that was a really nice way to end a day that was otherwise pretty blue. Of course I will try and get some video! Good thing I just bought some new tapes today!

Video

I got to the end of the tape in my video camera. So, I started downloading yesterday. What a task! I did get really behind in my video stuff throughout this pregnancy, birth, and newborn time. I do have all of my photos uploaded and filed in the computer, but, they aren't 100% organized. I have not started printing for scrapbooking yet. However, since the church has a project for us to work on, I will have to print soon. Maybe by the end of the week.

Joshua is a super social little guy. He smiles at anyone and everyone. He is always looking for someone to talk to. I have a great video of a conversation we had when Stephen was napping one day after a trip to Chuck E Cheese.

Here's the plan

"Okay, Amy, I am going to say something and it is just a joke. If I get pulled over because I am speeding, make the kids cry and I will try to talk my way out of the ticket."

Now, I am processing what Sean has just said as I sit in the backseat of the van entertaining the kids on our way home from San Antonio.
"Why? Are you getting pulled over? Oh wait, you said it's a joke. Okay. I get it. ha ha"

Now, Sean is being funny, normally I would have laughed. Sean is such a great husband that he knows I am processing stuff very slowly lately, so, he has to watch it.

SO, he continued with the "plan"-"just pull the pacifier out of Joshua's mouth and take the DVD player away from Stephen and we should be good." And really, he's right, it would have worked. I did laugh.

Thankfully, he was driving, so, we didn't get pulled over and didn't need to sacrafice our kid's happiness for the good of the whole family. If I would have been driving, and driving 5 mph over the speed limit, I would have gotten pulled over. I have some way of attracting cops...I average a ticket a year.

We did have a good time in San Antonio, and I am feeling very refreshed today as a result.

Astros

Sean came home Tuesday and told me that he turned down a couple of free Astros tickets. He said the game didn't start until 7pm and he knew that would not work with Stephen's schedule. I told him to try and get those tickets back because Stephen is much more flexible with his schedule now. If he is awake late, he does not wake us up in the middle of the night.

The next morning, without me saying a word, Beth told me Brandon was taking Will to the Astros game that night. So, I called Sean and told him to try and get those tickets again. Lo and behold, Nick (thanks Nick!) still had the tickets and all the boys got to go to the game. They had a lot of fun. I had a fairly peaceful evening where I got to fall off thie rigid schedule some. I ate dinner on the living room floor. That felt so free!

Graceful?

I feel I am about as graceful as an elephant in a ballet when it comes to parenting two kids. This is the thought that I have had several times over the last 24 hours.

I am using THE excuse ALREADY. My baby is crying. It *must* be teeth. My little guy must be teething--that IS the only explanation left. Stephen did get his first tooth at four months, so, it's not completely unrealistic that Joshua would be having the tooth pains in his mouth right now. However, it is awfully early at 2.5 months. I think it's more likely that I feel a little crazy. Also, it is quite apparent that I don't do babies well.

My friend Amy sent an e-mail-
"I fall asleep while nursing at night, too. Then wake up and put him back in his bed - which is still in my room since he is not sleepign thru the night yet. I will most likely move him into his room by the beginning of next month since he will already be 4 months. I was hoping to have him sleeping thru the night by then. Both girls slept thru the night by 2 months. I guess boys are different."

Now-that sounds so calm and relaxed to me. "I will most likely" sounds so relaxed to me. Now, Amy is one of my bestest :-) friends from college. I know she thinks and re-thinks decisions as much as I do. Why does she seem so calm and graceful going through this baby phase? I feel out of control (because I am, God is in control) and I feel every decision I make is the wrong one. I constantly feel like I am doing everything that is going to put me back in the same place I was with Stephen..having an older baby that doesn't sleep, doesn't take a bottle, and doesn't cope well when others try to take care of him.

Okay, I guess I should give myself some credit. Joshua does really well with others and does take a bottle. But sleep--heck no. In fact, he's going backwards! And, try as I might to be a scholar at following, "healthy sleep habits, happy child" (and my online girls help me remember little particular details)...I am really getting nowhere. So, then I tell myself to just relax and go with the flow like graceful Moms tell me to do--and I find myself in even deeper doo-doo.

Two nights ago Joshua woke up every two hours. Last night Joshua woke up less, but, completely threw up all over me and himself at 4:45am. His tummy was feeling bad. It could have been me overfeeding him trying to soothe him & not watching the times between feedings. Or, it could have been the milk that was going a little to the sour side that I had with my cereal that morning.

And, let's not forget, it could be teeth. Teeth could be the root cause of all of this!

I am so much better at toddlers (at least I think I am, I know I am much more calm inside). My education classes at least help me a little there!

Update: it turns out that Joshua was most likely a little sick. He was spitting up often (unusual) and fussy more than not (unusual)..so, all is more calm...but still crazy.

Some Recent Pictures

First of all, I want to announce to the whole world that I am so thankful for all the blessings I have in my life. The pictures I have posted today are of two healthy children. I sometimes fret about the craziness in my life because of them, but, I don't, at all, take my little boys for granted. I also am so happy to have a wonderful, caring, takes-part-in-this-family husband.
Right when I sat down to post this post, I got several back-to-back e-mails about people needing prayers for their children. It is heart wrenching. I just pray I don't have to be tested in those ways. I can't imagine & I know they never wanted this reality.

On to my beauties:

I took MANY pictures to try and get one of both of my boys looking cute! Many conversations come back to me that Beth and I had when she was doing photography of children. It's quite a task to get "normal"...much less smiling and cute... (and I was photographing MY boys & know how to make them smile!)

We took Joshua to the pool this weekend. He finally stayed awake on a trip to a pool. We tried to get a good pic, but he kept looking down, which is kind of his newest thing right now. He wants to sit up when in an incline, and wants to chew on our fingers when we are holding him. He holds his head up really well, but really doesn't want to right now because he has other things in mind...my expression is, "what are you doing little guy?"

Stephen didn't take a nap the other afternoon and I needed to get a workout in, so, I went out on the bike and took him along to break the cycle of crazy, no-nap preschooler activities. He fell asleep. I have no idea how he fell asleep in the 100 degree weather with tons of humidity. He slept hard because when he got home he asked if we were home and what happened to the bike ride. Crazy kid.

I really thought this was going to be the cutest, greatest little picture ever. I had everything set up so I could just run outside, throw the kids in position and snap a picture. I pleaded with Stephen to cooperate. Stephen wouldn't look at the camera, and the camera got stuck & wouldn't work for a second...so, Joshua lost it (because he hates the heat...even for one minute.) So, I got one picture. Maybe another day...

Update

I have really slowed down in my social online outlets. Sean and I have started Weight Watchers and have been spending lots of online time logging in our foods.

I had a realization tonight that I thought was kind of comical. But, I must go through the steps of what brought me to my realization.

I have talked about the whole dieting process with lots of people. I talk a lot. I know many people who have had lots of success with Weight Watchers. On Sunday I talked to one of my Mommy friends in the church room for nursing Moms. Her child is on antibiotics and was getting diaper rash. So, she was talking about how she has been eating a lot of yogurt to give her son some good bacteria through her breastmilk. It made me start to think about a breastfeeding/weightloss book that a social Mom gave me. It talks about what nutrient levels are affected with your intake and which ones your body regulates, no matter what you eat.

Tonight I was talking with Beth. She is having a good time watching Sean and me go through this dieting experience. This is really our first diet plan. Beth really knows a lot about food and diet. She has a strong success story under her belt. I was telling her that I get this funny little cramp kind of feeling every night since I have started this diet. She told me that it's the fiber.

I don't do anything halfway. I am all into this diet. I want to succeed. But, I also want my ice cream. So, we found this magnificent bread at the grocery store that has 5 g (at least) of fiber PER SLICE. So, that is ZERO points. So, you can eat as much of this bread that you want. I have had a sandwich with it everyday, saving myself 3 points, half of the points I need for my nightly ice cream. Cool. I can have my cake and eat it too & not starve all day long.

So, today happened.

Joshua woke up at 7am, just like normal.
He didn't really take a first nap. He kind of snoozed in Sean's arms.
Then, he didn't take a second nap. He snoozed a little while I was nursing him.
HE has done this before & usually takes an awesome afternoon nap.
So, I was planning on a great afternoon nap. He would snooze, poop, snooze, poop, snooze poop...I had 5 dirty diapers & spent about an hour trying to get him to sleep deeply enough I could put him in his crib.
Then tonight, I am trying to get him to bed earlier than normal, since he really hasn't slept, and lo and behold, he starts to drift off and POOP! Then it all hits me like a brick. Could it be a ton of FIBER that he is getting from MOMMY and her crazy new colon blow bread and nutty diet plans???? PROBABLY. OVERACHIEVER.

Well, thank goodness Sean had the day off because of the tropical storm. Joshua not napping didn't really mess with my calmness that badly.
Today we had sandwiches for lunch and for dinner. We had the most delicious weight watchers curry chicken sandwiches. Oh wow. I was thinking double whammy, but now I realize, that is a triple whammy. TWO servings of colon blow bread AND curry. I am screwed tomorrow, there is no way Joshua is going to have time to sleep in between all the pooping sessions. I might as well take out stock in Pampers.
