That Cat

I told my Mom our cat was stupid. She doesn't think so. But, I have pictures to prove it today!

On Saturday I was getting ready to go on a run when my cat passed me by looking like this:

Care to guess what that is around him? A cat floatation device? NO!!!
That is one of the parts to Stephen's potty seat!
The ding dong cat was apparently trying to get a drink of water out of the toilet upstairs and found himself with a new kitty accessory. Of course I had to delay getting out the door for my run so I could get some pictures!! LOL!

Do They Look Alike?

When you have a child, people try to figure out which parent the child looks most like. When you have a second child, people to try to see if the siblings look like each other. I have a picture from baptism weekend and some baby pics of Stephen and Joshua when they were approximately the same age. See if you can tell the difference!

I did it

FINALLY..

Beth gave me a CD of all the pictures she took of Joshua & our family the day after we came home from the hospital.
It took me days and days to go through the CD, choose my favorites and today, finally, I have put them on Shutterfly.
Have a look:

Joshua's Newborn Pics from Beth

In other news:
I have not posted that I acheived my pre-pregnancy weight last week. Joshua was 6 weeks and 5 days when the scale finally hit 152. I read 152 for 2 days & has gone back up. Today it was 153.0..so, hopefully tomorrow will be back down. I did go to my gym class today! YAY!

Bday party

My first attempt at posting video on this blog. I hope it works. This is some video from Stephen's birthday party at JumpNJungle. This video is hilarious and proof that we are dealing with toddlers/preschoolers that are learning about your and mine right now!

We paid quite a bit of money to have this party. But, I think it was money well spent. I felt like I was attending my own child's birthday instead of hosting it. It was nice. Even so, I still feel a little clutter brained...okay...really cluttered, but surely it's less than it otherwise would have been.

My first scrapblog post-trying something new

Sorry! It didn't work. I will try again some other time.

Oh yes he did

Stephen's prayer at dinner tonight:

God is Great

God is Good

Let us thank him for our POOP.

Sean caught it, I did not. Sean looked at me to see what I would say. Apparently Stephen looked straight at Sean when doing it & completely smirked at him while changing up the prayer. Fantastic. A little clown with potty humor. Or maybe, in his case, we should call it diaper humor.

Happy Birthday to my big, yet still little boy

Happy Birthday Stephen!

Yesterday was Stephen's birthday. He is now three years old. He has been telling me he would start using the potty when he turned three. He still is saying no today. Shucks.

We had a pretty crazy day yesterday. Joshua cried A LOT. Here's a pic of the boys a few days ago, but, I think it pretty much tells yesterday's story:

We had a small birthday party in the evening. My original idea was to let the inlaws come and spend one on one time with Stephen in his birthday festivities. However, my MIL is out of town watching my niece. But, the idea was in place already and worked out really well because several of our friends cannot make the party on Saturday and were happy to come yesterday. Stephen was thrilled. He did not take a nap and got into hyper overdrive during his party.

Before his party, I reminded him to not snatch toys from his friends. He only did once. I was really afraid because of his lack of nap. He has been really bad about sharing. I also had him practice saying "thank-you" to anyone that said Happy Birthday and saying "3" to anyone that asked him how old he is now. I also had him practice saying thank-you with gifts. I am very proud to report that my shy, non-talking boy did a fabulous job of doing all three of those things immediately when the opportunity arose. He was quite the little gentlemen. He was even hugging people before they left. It's so nice to see him be a little social.

He was very excited about his birthday cake. He got to pick everything out at the grocery store and help me make it. He also blew out all of the candles on his own!!

He opened all of his presents on his own:

And, this morning, first thing, he got right to playing with his new toys. He chose the fishing game that Emma brought him:

Joshua was fantastic through the festivities. He made Mommy happy after all the stress he gave me earlier in the day! He slept through the final minutes in set-up, woke-up happy, let other people hold him, and drank from a bottle. Hopefully he'll do the same on Saturday. I really want to focus on Stephen on Stephen's birthday & want others to be able to do the same. Stephen deserves a lot of happy times. He's had a lot of stress lately & he is trying so hard to help Mommy and be a good big brother.

Joshua's Expressions

Joshua is starting to show a lot of personality. He loves people. He flashes the biggest, toothless grin for everyone. He also coos adoringly. I have some video to go along with these pics, but, editing and uploading video cannot be done while a baby is lying on my chest! LOL!

Sleeping at Kemah while Stephen and Daddy were playing in the fountain:

Having fun with big brother on July 4th:

Smile:

Smile (and believe me, this is only a small smile. I was trying really hard to get his huge smile, but, alas, digital delay):

And, as babies go, one moment smile, the next moment you get this:

Joshua also has a REALLY cute sad face. It happens just before he is going to cry and the face will melt your heart. IT's adorable. I will get a pic of it one day!

Joshua is growing really fast, too. He is out of newborn diapers & will only be in size 1 diapers until I run out of them. He really should be in size 2. I am having to put more in the laundry basket right now. He is sleeping at night pretty well, mostly. I predict him to be about 12 pounds based on me standing on the scale without him and then with him this morning. He prefers to be bounced instead of rocked. So, I have a fitness ball in his room along with the rocking chair. He prefers to be held upright and not in a cradle hold. He can sleep while big brother plays drumset in the house.

New Vehicle & new milestone for Stephen

We did it. We bought a new....minivan! Yikes! We are officially UNCOOL. LOL!

We went from being a three car family to a two car family during this purchase. So, now all of our vehicles fit in the garage! YAY! Now Sean will get to go to work from the garage. No cold car, no wet cars...just perfect garage kept cars. AND-he parks in a garage at work, so, the cars will really keep nice.

Family Pic in new 2008 Toyota Sienna

Bye-Bye Chrysler

Bye-Bye Montero. Sean and I both agree that it is a little hard to say good-bye to this vehicle. I got really lucky on this car. I accidently bought it off of eBay. It was fun to drive. It was high off the ground, so flooding & driving off-road wasn't a big deal. It is also the car our two babies came home in. It was also the car that made us finally decide it was time to trade-in. We found out recently that it needed at least $1000 in service to the engine.

Now-you ask-why don't you have a full body picture of the minivan? Because we got home late-ish. We needed to do dinner and get Stephen in bed. During dinner, Stephen announced that he needed to go poo-poo on the potty. SO, we headed off to the bathroom. He had already gone poo in his diaper, but, he was able to push it out to make it fall in the potty. Gross thing to post, I know...but, we might be on to something here1 YAY! Stephen got to pick out a new Hot Wheels car from the box of hot wheels I purchased off of eBay some time ago. Get this...he chose a minivan. Ha ha!!

Big day...now I really need some sleep!

Update

Howdy! Long time, no post.
All of you that have multiple kids understand. All of you that don't have kids, or only one kid, you understand. Yesterday, since Sean was home, I opted for a three hour nap instead of doing anything productive, or anything useless.
Today, I rode my BIKE!!! Yay me! I finally got out my race bike, put on the special shorts and special shoes and got after it! I had to go in the heat of the afternoon, but I went! I did a short ride and stayed close to home with my cell phone...but, it was just like riding a bike! LOL!

Here are some recent pics:
Joshua, already learning how to take things in stride. All he is missing to be a grown man is a game and a beer.

He looks so cute sleeping, I had to snap this picture, too. He is a great sleeper. And, he's been on the same routine for about a week now. He wakes up around 6 (with Daddy), and drifts in and out of sleep until 8. Then, he fusses starting around 9, falling asleep somewhere between 10 and 10:30. Than he sleeps and sleeps. He wakes up sometimes during Stephen's nap or earlier and then again around dinner. He goes to bed, after fussing, at 8:30 ish. He wakes up around 2 and around 4 or 5. Repeat. He's a great baby. I feel I know his cues. I am starting to be right more than I am wrong on whether he's crying to nurse, to pass gas, or load his diaper...

Stephen always wants to hold Joshua. He is always excited when Joshua wakes up. He wants to be in the middle of everything. He doesn't verbalize any jealousy, but, I suspect a lot of his acting out lately is jealousy that he just can't put words to. However, because of the many horror stories as I have heard about siblings, I think Stephen is handling this really well. I am trying everyday to keep him really busy and keep my cool. Sometimes I am successful, sometimes I am not.

We went to church for this first last week & Stephen was looking so cute in the new shirt Aunt Lisa gave him. So, I had to take some pictures when we got home.

Joshua's fussy time in the morning lasts between 8:30 am and 10:30 am. He's not fussing the whole time, but, he has a short fuse. His temperment makes getting showered and dressed really difficult. Not only do I have hormones that exude a stink out of my body & make me sweat crazy at night, making showering or bathing a morning must, I also have a toddler that needs to be dressed and doesn't always like to do so. I found out this week that a bubble bath is the perfect solution. I get to be clean. Stephen gets to play in bubbles, and Joshua is soothed, or at least distracted, by the noise of the jets in the tub.

I did it

I finally went through the entire CD of pictures that Beth took during my labor and delivery. Yesterday Joshua slept at the same time that Stephen slept! And, Stephen actually slept! So, I had about two hours to myself! Wow!

SO, I went through the photo CD. I am struggling with the fact that this is my last time to be a Mom of a newborn. My last birth story is gone. Pregnancy is only the past for me. I have major sad feelings over these issues. So, going through these pictures made me cry. But-I am so blessed that I have these pictures because the memory will stay so clear for me. Beth went out of town for the weekend, but I wanted just to hug her to death. These pictures are always going to be so special to me.

I have put 25 of the 100+ on a shared shutterfly album:

Happy Father's Day...early

As our outing yesterday, I took Stephen and Joshua to Bed, Bath and Beyond to buy Daddy a Father's Day gift. I packed up everyone and our 20% off coupon. We got there, I gave Stephen the lecture about staying close to Mommy, or he had to ride in the cart. When we got there, I felt like a kid in a candy store. It's been a long time since I was in that store. There are many things there that I could buy and fill a "need" in the house. So, we passed right by the waffle makers at first. SO, we had to make a second lap around the store. We found them.

Stephen liked the smallest, cheapest one. I was kind of surprised you could get a waffle maker for just $30. However, I talked Stephen into buying the waffle maker that said "professional" on the box and looked like the ones they use in hotels that come with a complimentary breakfast. It didn't break the bank, so, why not? Sean did let me sleep in that morning!

I then headed for the cash register. As I was scanning the walls for wrapping paper, I lost sight of Stephen. I became THE Mom in the store shouting, "Stephen!" "Stephen!" "Stephen!" Finally, he emerged. He got a firm grip on the wrist and a good talking to. He then got put in the cart. At just that moment (of course) a friend (with kids that have grown already) from church comes to us. She wants to look at the baby and talk about how I feel. Well, at that moment, quite honestly, I was pretty frantic.

So, we get home. I get Joshua asleep so Stephen and I proceed to wrap Daddy's gift. We also sign the cards I bought him last week. As I have done before, I hid the gift in Stephen's room. Stephen was with me all of the way. I told him we would give it to Daddy on Father's day. Then Stephen goes to quiet time for the day.

After quiet time, Stephen and I do "school time." I mostly do school time because it gives me one-on-one time with Stephen. I find myself pretty happy during that time because it's easy. I sit, give him an activity. I feel proud because he is learning, I am involved & he gets lots of positives from it as a result. I drink a Dr. Pepper and he drinks a grape kool-aid. Then, we proceed outside to play in the water. Actually, Stephen played in the water and I cleaned sand up from around the sandbox. We did lots of activities between gift wrapping and Daddy coming home.

But-that didn't make Stephen forget.
Daddy came home and greeted us playing outside. Stephen started heading inside immediately. He was talking about birthday cake. I got Stephen back outside because he was all wet and needed his dry clothes on. So, he got Sean to put on his dry clothes. The whole time he is talking about birthday cake. Sean keeps telling him we don't have birthday cake. Then Stephen starts talking about going to his room. He needs Daddy to come to his room. Then he starts talking about waffles. I knew from the second Stephen started talking about birthday cake, he was trying to get to the gift. I was just watching...
I had to grab awake Joshua..but, I am watching closely as Stephen drags Sean upstairs, talking about waffles with strawberries on top. And, "orange juice on top. that would be good Daddy."

I am laughing.
Sean is clueless.

Stephen pulls Sean into his room, to his closet & opens up the door. He takes the towel off the top of the present & Sean laughs. He looks at me and asks if he already knows what's in the gift. I told him he did. Stephen was pretty clear all the way up the stairs.
So, Sean opens the cards as Stephen directs. Then, he opens the gift. There is the waffle maker with a picture on the box of waffles with strawberries and blueberries on top and a glass of orange juice next to it.
So, now Sean and Stephen can make waffles together this Saturday morning instead of pancakes. In fact, Stephen has been wanting waffles every meal since the gift opening....

no more secrets around here!

A New Understanding

I have a new understanding for why Moms say the things they do.
I have spent my first four days at home with two kids.
I now understand that it is hard to get a shower everyday.
If I do get a shower, I will probably only get make-up on or get my hair dry, but not both.
I now have a deeper understanding of exactly what it means to get two kids out of the door to go somewhere.
For four days, I have experienced both kids NOT napping at the same time. Oh wait, I lied, they napped at the same time yesterday...but, Stephen didn't actually fall asleep, so it made it hard for me to sleep. So, I didn't.

Two kids is a juggling act for sure, for sure. When I wake up in the morning, I hit the ground running and I don't stop. Since Joshua is a newborn, I can't really say it stops...ever. I don't get a lot of me time. I am not getting anything really useless done.

And-now-I must stop updating this blog. Stephen's reward snack of ice cream (he got 4 stickers on his reward chart) is done & now I must move him to the next activity...water play in the backyard while Joshua is asleep. BECAUSE-when Joshua wakes up, I will need to hold and nurse him & will need Stephen to self entertain at that time...not now. Juggling, non-stop action. Non-stop. NO time.

2 week pictures

We didn't make it to church today. Stephen and I slept until 9am. It was a longish night. Stephen actually woke up in the middle of the night because he ran out of water and woke up thirsty. It just happened to be the one night I forgot to turn the monitor on. Thankfully I woke up to his crying...clear across the house.

We took pictures yesterday before my Mom left. I used the picture time to help Stephen learn appropriate closeness to the baby. He has wanted to be in the middle of everything, be really close, touch a lot, etc. Of course he started getting a cold or something!! Yikes! But, he seems quite happy to only give "soft kisses" now. Hooray! We have balance in one area.

First Doctor's Appt

Joshua is now up to 10 lbs, 4 oz. He left the hospital at 9 lbs, 2 oz, so, the doc told me I should feel very good about my supply. I have not wondered about my supply. In fact, I fed Joshua right before the doctor got in the room & Joshua managed to drool just right, leaving a nice wet spot on my shirt just below the boob. Embarrassing. He measured 21.5 inches at the appt., so, shorter than he was a birth. My guess is he is pretty much the same heighth wise, but measuring a newborn is tricky. Joshua likes to keep his legs curled up.

I have not mentioned that Joshua got a 9/10 on his APGAR at birth! A 10! My perfect baby. That's with an epidural! So, I am just going to believe that an epidural does not affect the wakefulness of the baby. Joshua was wide awake for a good hour + after birth and breastfed immediately.

Today my weight is one pound heavier than pre-pgcy weight. Maybe tomorrow I will wake up to pre-pgcy weight?

Tomorrow my Mom goes home. It has been really nice having her help. On Monday I will be on my own. I have a friend coming over and bringing her toddler and lunch to help the transistion. I am ready to hit this two kid thing on my own. It is hard. And, I have to say, it's hard in ways I did not plan on. I really can't believe I am posting on this blog today!

I hope to have a couple of pictures up tomorrow. Joshua really likes to sleep and sleep....

One week ago

Joshua is one week old today. Already. Wow.
I find myself with a mixture of emotions.
I miss the good points of pregnancy. Our plan is not to have anymore children, so, I grieve not planning to travel down this road again. I am so happy to be holding my baby, sad that the birth story is done and over.
But-it's just a grieving thing. It's not a depressed thing. I look forward to the future. Mostly, I really, really look forward to joining the triathlon world again. I absolutely can not wait to be competing again. However, everyone needs to be sleeping first!

This is a belly pic that I took right before leaving for the hospital. My waters had been breaking:

I have 6 more pounds to lose to hit my pre-pregnancy weight according to my weigh-in this morning. I intended to take post-partum belly pictures, but, I can only do so much. Here is today's belly pic:

I am posting on this blog & going back and reading some things & realizing everything is a literary mess. I intend to clean things up one day. Perhaps when Stephen starts "school" in the fall.

I feel pretty good. My Mom is here helping. So, I can sleep in in the mornings. I can also stay asleep at naptime if Stephen wakes up fast. That is helping me stay sane. I did choose to skip a nap once and that did make me feel crazy that evening.
Early this week, I was suffering from post-birth contractions that were extremely strong, especially during nursing. I was keeping a good routine with the Motrin and Tylenol 3. Once that ended, I have been pushing through engorged breasts. Hopefully the ladies will understand the routine pretty soon and stop over producing.

Joshua has been a pretty good baby. He has given us a couple of fussy evenings, but for the most part, he has slept and slept and slept. I have been setting my watch timer everytime he eats for 2.5 hours. If he hasn't waken to eat by the time the alarm goes off, I wake him up during the day. I want any longer spacing to be at night, but I haven't had any luck in that regard yet! However, I also haven't had to spend any countless amount of hours awake with him at night.

I think this blog has helped a lot. I have been able to "talk" to so many people and share the experience with them. Thank-you to everyone that has commented and e-mailed. I am just so happy I have friends to share this time with. It makes it so much more special.

My hope for this next week is to get mentally organized. I want to try to become a little more proactive and not reactive. I want a sold routine getting into the car. I need to know how long it takes to get into the car so I have half a chance of being on time to go to places. I need to get my SAHM, super-dooper efficiency on again. Hopefully it won't be a year before I have my groove back!

I have not been able to post much here, e-mail people as much, call anyone, or sort through many of the pictures. All of these things usually happen during Stephen's nap...but...I have been using that time to nap myself, so, nothing gets done. Oh well.

I will say that I am cold today. I might actually turn the AC up a little. Wow. I was never cold when nursing Stephen. Not once. Maybe it'll be different this time. That will save us some money in electricity!

Look Everybody! My little brother is home!

This is what Sean and I heard when we got out of the car bringing Joshua home. Stephen came running towards the car very excited about our arrival. Of course, I started crying. It felt so good to see Stephen excited.
Stephen helped Daddy carry Joshua inside.
Grandpa and Grandma Koehler, Grandpa and Grandma Cupitt, and Mike and Amy Wood were in attendance along with James and Alyssa.

Once we got in the door, Stephen started the line of questions about Joshua. He was bouncing around...a lot.

Stephen and I sat on the couch with Joshua while my family prepared a great dinner. I was so excited to see Stephen happy that I did what I do best...cried. People were fetching me Kleenex right and left. Stephen did not cry with me. I had been afraid he would cry if he saw me cry. He even helped me get some toilet paper one time for my "boogers."

After dinner, Daddy and I I took Joshua upstairs with Stephen. Stephen showed Joshua around the house. Daddy took Stephen downstairs to hang with the Grandparents. I then started to feed Joshua. As soon as Stephen got downstairs, he announced that everyone should come upstairs to see Joshua eat. He was so excited, he came back upstairs and just watched, asked questions, and started all kinds of "room preparations"....he took a blanket out of the drawer for Joshua, put the blanket in the crib, took some toys out, turned on the light, and some other things.

SO, tonight, for Stephen and attendants, was very exciting. Praise God.

Birth Story

Let's see if I can throw a birth story on here before the next event. That's one thing about the hospital stay-there are kinds of random events & you just never know what's coming next. My favorite event happened this morning at 5:30am, when I was finally dead asleep, the lab came in to draw blood! Sheesh! But, I have had a nap and I am feeling pretty good now!

Yesterday, Stephen had woken up a little early (6:30ish) & Sean retrieved him and brought him to bed with us for awhile to watch TV so we could all wake up slowly. Little Mister actually fell asleep for a little while in our bed, which never happens. However, we had let him stay up the night before so we could go to the Friendswood Music at the Park series. We had a blast. Stephen had a blast. The weather was perfect, the music was great. When Stephen woke back up, Sean packed him up to get Mornings Kolaches for me and my mother and sister. My sister came to town, risking that she may not see the baby. I am glad to say she got to be here for the whole event.

At 7 am, I was laying in bed enjoying a little morning by myself. I felt a feeling & quickly hurried to the bathroom. I suspected my waters had broken. However, since I got sent home from the hospital with Stephen told my waters didn't break, I was looking for it to me more obvious. Obvious happened, but I wasn't having contractions. I did what any normal woman would do (chuckle), I took a shower, brushed my teeth, dried my hair, put on some make-up, and curled my hair. I had my Mom and my sister helping me put some last minute things in the suitcase.

To get out the door, I really had to figure out what I was going to wear. Not to look pretty-but-how do you get down the road 20 minutes with your waters breaking and be dressed? I ended up stuffing a hand towel in some shorts. As we were leaving, I asked my sister to grab a robe from my closet that I could wear into the hospital...just in case.

On the road, I called my doctor's phone number. I got the answering service. I found out that MY doctor was again going to miss my birth experience and I would have the on call doctor. I would have the other Dr. Johnson, Doctor Anitra Johnson. She called, apparently the paging service had waken her up & I could barely understand what she was saying. I later learned she had been at the hospital all night. You have to appreciate doctors and nurses for the hours they have to work. This is, after all, Memorial Day weekend.

We got to the hospital a little after 8 am. We answered questions, got into the hospital robe & they did the swab to see if it was amniotic fluid. It mostly certainly was amniotic fluid. Then they checked me. I was ONE cm. I was in inactive labor, but since my waters had broken and I was past my due date, they kept me. The doctor ordered a small dose of pitocin to get things going.

Hours went by. It took forever to get to 4 cm.
My thoughts going into labor came from listening to friends and from my past experience.
Some of my friends that have scheduled c-sections come out of the experience feeling they lost some of the experience because they didn't really feel contractions. From my last experience, I knew I didn't want to feel contractions as long as I did last time without the epidural. Getting an epidural at 9 cm was hard last time. It was necessary, but hard.

The delivery Dr. Johnson came in to see me and meet me for the first time. I was still under 4 cm. The nurse and she started to talk to me about when I would get the epidural. At this point, I was having to close my eyes and breathe through contractions, but, I wanted to hold off. However, they explained that the longest part of my labor would be the inactive part. Once I got to 4 cm, things would start rolling pretty fast since I have had a child. The last thing I wanted was to wait too long for the epidural. I agreed to go ahead and get it.

As most women will say when they get the epidural, it was the best thing ever. I had the electric shock feeling when it first went in & that was scary-but it was all uphill from there. The anethesiologist was great. He got the epidural so I could move my legs and feel the contractions, but not feel too much pain. I was in love with the fact that I could roll over and not feel horrible pain in my hips! It's been months since I have been able to roll around on my hips without horrible pain!!! However, something about the epidural in my back was upsetting the electric epidural pump, so it kept sounding an alarm. That was a bummer and kept the nurse and anethesiologist on their toes. It was nothing that affected me in the slightest.

So, I labored. I had many people in and out of the room. It was really nice to have people there. Lisa and Beth were my two old men in the balcony. They kept a fresh dialog running between them that was interesting and funny. I could join in or, sit and listen. That became so important! They are also the reason everyone could get up to the minute updates. I believe Lisa was working in my e-mail account and Beth updated my blog. We were laughing about the room being so "wired." There were as many as 4 laptops in the room at some points.

Once I got to 4 cm, I did progress quickly. My nurse, Becky, wanted me to lay on my left side and put my top leg up close to my belly. She swore that was a great position to get progress. The first time we did it, I went from 5 to 7. The second time we did it, I went from 7 to complete. I did stay in that position because the epidural machine didn't like it...so, there was about an hour between the two position changes. Becky was motivated to get the show on the road because her shift ended at 7pm & she said it is hard as a nurse to get a patient all the way to the end & then do a shift change without seeing the end.

At 6:42 pm, Sean's parents called his cell phone. While he was on the phone, I started to feel the pressure to push. I told the doctor and the nurse. I then suggested to Sean to get off the phone and move things around to make room for the medical staff. The time of this phone call becomes important because I wasn't pushing then.

The doc and nurse rolled me over & checked me...sure enough, I was complete. I pushed in the first contraction and the doctor started suiting up. All the medical staff started coming in. I started crying...it was happening. The time was here. I pushed a few more times and Joshua was born at 6:58 pm. So, I didn't push long. I also pushed him out before Becky's shift was over.

I got to hold Joshua on my chest for a long time. I pediatric nurse even asked me if I wanted to hold him longer, or, if I wanted her to clean him up. I did send him to get cleaned while I went through the rest of the fun delivery stuff.

Dr. Johnson did a great job of massage stuff while I was pushing, so, I tore only a little. I got some stitches that she said she did for "cosmetic" reasons more than anything else.
Joshua was crying well & I was crying right along with him, because of happiness. They put him on the scale. 9 pounds, 11 ounces. That's all I have been saying in my head ever since....9 lbs, 11 ounces. Over and over. I can't believe it-9 lbs, 11 oz. Holy cow. That's why people thought I was having twins! Some people have twins & both babies together don't weigh as much as this little guy!
He's 22 inches.

I am very happy with this experience. I am about 24 hours post-delivery right now & I feel so much better and comfortable than I did last time.
I may update this story more later.
